WE DON'T PLAY BOXING.

Lloydminster's Only Old School Boxing Club

ABOUT US

The Lloydminster Boxing Club is Lloydminster's premier spot to learn the sweet science. We are a no-bullshit club and many of our members would happily call our gym their second home.

Our youth class sets our boxers up for long-term success, and Lloydminster is known as a Western-Canadian powerhouse in the youth boxing competition scene.

Our adults include national-level boxers, and many of our athletes are set to represent our city on the provincial, national, and international level in the future.

Coach Austin Burgess

Austin took on the role of Head Coach during the challenging period of the COVID-19 pandemic, bringing with him a deep legacy of knowledge passed down from his father, as well as valuable insights from coaching mentors across Alberta and Saskatchewan.

With extensive experience as both a competitor and coach, Austin has built a reputation for his expertise and commitment to developing top-tier talent.

His most notable achievement came during the 2022-2023 season, where he led his youth teams to become a dominant force in Western Canada. Under his guidance, six boxers completed the season undefeated, showcasing their skill and discipline. Austin also made history by coaching Lloydminster’s first National Medalist in nearly a quarter-century, marking a significant milestone for the local boxing community and solidifying his legacy as a dedicated coach and mentor.

Coach Devon Burgess

Devon and his brother first laced up their gloves at just 11 years old, training under the legendary Gordon "Butch" Blanchard at the original Lloydminster Boxing Club—a legacy that continues to shape the gym's foundation today.

Devon’s dedication to boxing saw him rise through the ranks, claiming victories in numerous tournaments and competing on national and international stages. As a core member of the prestigious "Sask First" team, he traveled coast to coast with over 120 bouts to his name, proudly representing Lloydminster and embodying the grit and determination he now instills in his athletes.

In 2016, Devon reignited the Lloydminster Boxing Club with a clear purpose: to build champions both in the ring and in life—empowering boxers to carry those values far beyond the ropes. Since that time, Devon has been the core of our high-performance team, and has coached many boxers to the national level.
