About Us

The Lloydminster Boxing Club is Lloydminster's only fully licensed Olympic-Style boxing club. We have group classes for both youth and adults, and our trained coaches have coached many athletes to the provincial and national level of the sweet science.

Our methods are very simple: Hard Work makes Winning Easy. Our classes have cardio & conditioning, technical boxing instruction, tactical & applied boxing drills, and of course heavy bag work. This is an intense class designed to make you push your limits and get you better.

Whether you are a beginner looking for a way to burn some calories in a motivating setting, or a prospect looking to go pro, we are here to make sure you achieve your goals.

The Lloydminster boxing club Fighter's oath

#1. SHOW UP.

Whether it's to the gym or to a match, a fighter will show up mentally and physically.

I don't let excuses get in the way. I don't back down. I don't back out. I don't leave my coach, my club, my opponent, or an audience hanging.

I know showing up to practice once a week isn't sufficient, so I show up twice or more.

When I show up to a competition, I don't fold and blame it on an off day. Every fighter has them, but I fight through them.

Our Coaches

Coach Austin B

Coach Austin is the Head Coach standing behind all of the athletes in the club. With the help of our other coaches like Jessica, Dane, Glen, and Devon, Austin aims to lead our boxers to their full potential - whether it is to lose weight or win that next pair of Golden Gloves. Austin has been training since he was a child, and since he stepped into the coaching role, he has helped over 50 boxers have their first matches in the ring.

She has competed everywhere from the Adelita Championships in Mexico, to being our main event at Battle at the Border right here in Lloydminster, and her most recent accomplishment is bringing home the first medal Lloydminster Boxing Club has seen in 25 years at the 2024 National Championships in Sarnia, Ontario.

Our youth team is blessed to have Jessica as one of our lead coaches.

Coach Dane S

High Performance Competitor, Assistant Coach

Coach Dane is undoubtedly the hardest worker in our gym, and as a level 1 coach through CABA, Dane uses his past experience in MMA and 5+ years of experience in boxing as his teaching grounds for new and intermediate boxers in our gym. He is the perfect portrayal of our clubs mantra of "Hard Training makes Winning Easy".

A student and teacher of the sport, Dane has many wins under his belt, including at the 2024 Silver Gloves, the 2024 Saskatchewan Provincial Championships, and our local competition, Battle at the Border.

In 2025, you will see Dane expanding his competitive career as he works towards major competitions such as Golden Gloves, Nationals, and his inevitable professional debut.

Coach DEvon B

High Performance Coach, Founder

Coach Devon holds the deepest roots in boxing within our club, backed by over three decades of dedication to the sport. His journey began with the original Lloydminster Boxing Club, training under the legendary Gordon "Butch" Blanchard.

With more than 120 bouts to his name, Devon proudly represented Saskatchewan for several years. His extensive experience spans every facet of the sport, and he played a pivotal role in reviving and re-opening the Lloydminster Boxing Club in 2016, reigniting the passion for the Sweet Science in our community.

Since the club's revival, Devon has coached numerous boxers to compete at the national level. As the leader of our high-performance team, he is trusted by our athletes to impart the most intricate techniques and strategies. Though his presence in the gym isn't daily, Devon's profound knowledge as both a fighter and a coach continues to elevate our boxers to new heights. You'll see Devon in the corner of our National Level and Professional Boxers.

CoacH Glen P

Assistant Coach, Honorary Lifetime Member

Coach Glen, our most veteran coach, was a part of Butch's boxing club in the 80s and 90s, and his experience shows in his teachings. Owner of Glen's Small Engine Repair in Lloydminster, you will frequently see Glen showing up the youngin's on the speed bag or heavybag, and if he isn't working out himself, he's passing on his knowledge to the next generation of boxers.
